2019 AGM & Committee Nominations

The AGM will be held on Tuesday 4th June 2019.

Part of the AGM is to elect or re-elect existing committee posts, and non committee posts. Cornelly Striders is a democratic group and has pleasure in opening the nominations for all posts listed in the nomination form (attached) you can read a brief description of each role below as well as on the nomination form. To nominate you must fill in the attached form and the form must be returned to the club secretary, Georgina Fraser, by 20th May 2019. You may nominate yourself or be nominated by another member with consent. All nominations must be seconded. Please take the time to read the attached nomination form as this gives full details of the nomination process. Votes can only be made in person at the AGM.

Committee Roles:

The Chairperson is responsible for setting items for the agenda for the next meeting (in consultation with the members) and in ensuring good order during the meeting. The Chair will respond if required to do so by members of the club to send an official response on behalf of the club.

The Vice Chairperson deputises for the Chair, and assists the Chair with the preparation of future meetings. The Vice Chair will respond if required to do so by members of the club to send an official response on behalf of the club.     

The Secretary is responsible for the writing of minutes during the meeting, and seeking/organising venues for meetings. The Secretary will respond if required to do so by members of the club to send an official response on behalf of the  club. 

The Treasurer has overall responsibility for the funds held by the club.  The Treasurer has to disclose details of all receipts and expenses at          each AGM, or on request of committee members. For the post of Treasurer you must have no unspent criminal convictions or under bankruptcy regulations.

The Membership Secretary has overall responsibility for maintaining the members list, and liaises with Welsh Athletics to ensure Welsh Athletics membership is maintained.  The Membership Secretary also ensures payment of the appropriate membership fee.    

The Welfare Officer is responsible for the welfare of the members, including safeguarding issues, health and safety issues, and that club policies are being adhered to in relation to welfare and health. Club Welfare Officers must undergo a DBS check and complete all mandatory Welsh Athletics safeguarding courses for welfare officers.

The Legal and Policy Officer has overall responsibility for the drafting, and maintenance of club policy, to advise committee members of any legal matters that may arise in the day-to-day management of the club, and to advise on disciplinary matters as they arise.

Club Captain for the West Glamorgan Cross Country         League (x 2 – male and female)       

Club Kit Organiser

Club Merchandise Organiser

Editor/Writer of the Club Newsletter    

Social Committee (maximum 7 members)
