Bridgend County Running League

It’s all change for the 4th installment of the Bridgend County Running League in 2019. Well, not all change, but there are a couple of changes. Sadly, Pencoed Tri are no longer involved 🙁  there might be one road race (haha!) and there’s a whole new registration system this year.

You will need to register here: BCRL Registration Form before being able to register for each race. When you have registered you will be sent a unique ID – keep it safe, you will need it to register for individual races throughout the season.

But what is it???

The Bridgend County Running League (BCRL) is an inter-club competition consisting of seven races hosted by each of the seven local clubs. Scoring can appear complicated, however, the more entrants a club has the lower the score can be. And that’s what all clubs are aiming for, as low a score as possible! The first 15 finishers of each club score a certain number of points and each additional runner scores -1 (this is good!). A penalty is served to any club not entering 15 runners on the night.

Captain Windos will ‘encourage’ you to sign up. She’s unrelenting, unless you have a valid reason. Unfortunately ‘the dog ate my homework’ type of excuses won’t cut it here. She won’t even give us truffles. Hmm… “Jennet…”
